Welcome to Nadine Benn Counselling (MBACP)

I am a qualified, BACP registered  Humanistic and Integrative Counsellor.  I work one-to-one with adults (18+) including vulnerable adults (up-to-date DBS check).  I offer both in-person sessions in a serene therapy space in central Bath, BA1 2BT, as well as online and "walk-and-talk" sessions.  I am close to good transport links and free parking.

Please reach out via my contact details below if you have any questions or wish to book a free initial 20-minute phone call.  This initial contact enables us to get a better sense of each other and to understand what brings you to therapy.

About

Individual therapy sessions with me offer a safe, compassionate, and confidential space for you to explore your emotions, thoughts, and experiences. Together we work on understanding and addressing your unique challenges, facilitating personal growth, healing, and emotional well-being.  I am passionate about helping you to transform your life and to feel more connected to yourself and those around you.  I recognise that this process is highly individual for everyone and since I am trained in multiple ways of working we will together find the approach that best addresses your needs.

I have a special interest in trauma (incl. attachment trauma) and PTSD as well as emotional difficulties arising during pregnancy/birth, and the postnatal  period.  However, I also have many years of experience in helping clients with a variety of other challenges including, for example, anxiety, depression, abusive relationships, grief, autism, and borderline personality disorder.

Fees: I charge £50 for weekly 50-minute sessions or £90 for twice-weekly sessions.

I offer open-ended counselling sessions, which means you can stay as long or as short as feels right for you.  You may know exactly what brings you to therapy and what you are hoping to gain from it or you may simply feel that something isn't quite right in your life but you are not sure what it is.  I provide a holding space in which we can gently and safely explore what has brought you to counselling and find a way forward for you and build increasing resilience.

I am trained in multiple ways of working and some of the methods we might use during sessions include (but are not limited to):

  • looking back at your past experiences and how they may still be influencing your feelings, behaviour and experiences today

  • considering and working with your attachment style

  • Psychoeducation around trauma and other trauma-specific support

  • exploring and transforming patterns that may stand in your way through using the 'here and now'

  • creative methods such as dream work, visualisations, mindfulness, drawings, or symbolic work

  • Working with parts of the self (for example, Internal Family Systems, IFS, work)
