About Nadine Benn
With a deep passion for helping individuals navigate through emotional and physical challenges, I am dedicated to providing a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space for you to explore your inner and outer world experiences. My approach is warm, compassionate, and tailored to your individual needs, fostering a transformative therapeutic journey.

"As far as we can discern, the sole purpose of human existence is to kindle a light in the darkness of mere being."
C. G. Jung
Individual therapy sessions with me offer a safe, compassionate, and confidential space for you to explore your emotions, thoughts, and experiences. Together we work on understanding and addressing your unique challenges, facilitating personal growth, healing, and emotional well-being. I am passionate about helping you to transform your life and to feel more connected to yourself and those around you. I recognise that this process is highly individual for everyone and since I am trained in multiple ways of working we will together find the approach that best addresses your needs.
I have a special interest in trauma (incl. attachment trauma, C/PTSD, birth trauma), anxiety, and life transitions. Additionally, I have extensive experience in helping clients with a variety of other challenges including but not limited to depression, grief, separation/divorce, losses including miscarriage, neurodivergence, and BPD. I am also a qualified EMDR practitioner.
Fees: I charge £60 for weekly 50-minute sessions and £90 for 90-minute EMDR sessions.
I offer open-ended counselling sessions, which means you can stay as long or as short as feels right for you. You may know exactly what brings you to therapy and what you are hoping to gain from it or you may simply feel that something isn't quite right in your life but you are not sure what it is. I provide a holding space in which we can gently and safely explore what has brought you to counselling and find a way forward for you and build increasing resilience.
I am trained in multiple ways of working and some of the methods we might use during sessions include (but are not limited to):
-
looking back at your past experiences and how they may still be influencing your feelings, behaviour and experiences today
-
considering and working with your attachment style
-
Psychoeducation around trauma and other trauma-specific support
-
exploring and transforming patterns that may stand in your way through using the 'here and now'
-
creative methods such as dream work, visualisations, mindfulness, drawings, or symbolic work
-
Working with parts of the self (parts-work similar to Internal Family Systems)
With almost 15 years of experience in the helping professions, first as a Business Psychology mentor, then as a Midwife for the NHS and now as a Counsellor, I feel I have seen life from many angles and can deeply empathise with the complexities individuals can face.

Client Testimonials
"It is difficult to quantify what Nadine has done for me. Thanks to her patience and empathy, for the first time in many years I feel I am in a happier and more confident place. Nadine offers a safe, friendly environment that encourages interaction and conversation. She often takes the time to explain the models and concepts she uses during our sessions, and to also teach me the tools and behaviours I can use to help me help myself. These have changed my life. They have helped me to manage both my emotions and anxieties, and, perhaps most importantly, my interactions with family and friends. She is warm, supportive and incredibly patient, and I truly owe her more than I can ever repay." Brian
"Working with Nadine was genuinely transformative for me. I originally sought therapy during a very difficult period following the separation from a long-term partner, when I was trying to make sense of intense emotions, patterns in my relationships and how to move forward in a healthier way both for myself and as a parent. From the very beginning, Nadine offered a space that felt calm, safe, and deeply non-judgemental. She has an exceptional ability to listen carefully, reflect things back with compassion and help you see what is really going on beneath the surface. What I valued most was how she combined warmth and empathy with real insight and structure, helping me understand emotional patterns and practical ways of responding differently rather than just talking things through. The work we did together helped me develop emotional clarity, stronger boundaries and a much greater sense of self-trust. I now feel more grounded, emotionally regulated and able to approach relationships with far more confidence and authenticity. Nadine is a thoughtful, skilled, and deeply attuned therapist. I’m extremely grateful for the support she gave me during a pivotal time in my life and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone seeking meaningful, effective therapeutic work." Mark
“Nadine provided me with counselling on a weekly basis for over six months. I originally sought her support due to grief-related issues; however, she also helped me immensely with long-standing problems around low self-esteem and low self-worth." Anonymous
"Nadine is an amazing, warm, and friendly professional who helped me see situations in a more positive and compassionate light. I will be forever truly grateful to her for helping me become the confident person I am today.”
Vicky
"I cannot fault Nadine as a counsellor. She made me feel genuinely supported and understood, and helped me make sense of my thought patterns. She gave me practical tools and helped me understand that my difficulties were not my fault, but rather the result of unhelpful ways of thinking that could be changed." Anonymous
“I have been seeing Nadine for the past few months and can honestly say it's been life changing. I've acknowledged/ processed/ dealt with things I didn't know I'd be able to do so quickly. I have achieved some massive milestones, that I'm so proud of, but also so grateful to Nadine for, because her sessions enabled me to get there. Although it can sometimes be heavy, it's an hour I look forward to every week.”
Holly
"Working with Nadine for several months of talking therapy was a hugely positive and important experience for me. I found her insightful and supportive words to be transformative, and our sessions helped to propel me towards a more manageable, happy day to day life. I always trusted Nadine and felt a genuine sense of empathy in our conversations. I would recommend Nadine to anyone looking for a therapist for both softer life challenges, and also very difficult periods. I always found use and meaning in our sessions. Thank you for your time." Emily
"Nadine is a beautiful soul who listens carefully, takes care to understand and offers positive, healing words of comfort, compassion and ideas. She is well versed in the intricacies of human nature, the nuances of relationships and the complexities of life with its constant ebb and flow. She is more than a counsellor - she becomes your soul sister and I am grateful to have known her." Anonymous
